Ligue 1: Memphis Depay sacks support in Lyon defeat


Memphis Depay scored twice for Lyon as they pounded Metz 5-0 in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Depay struck twice either side of half-time to place them in control, while an Ivan Balliu claim objective made it 3-0 preceding objectives from Alexandre Lacazette and Mathieu Valbuena finished the defeat late on.

Somewhere else on Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain kept up the weight on Ligue 1 pioneers Monaco with a pounding 5-1 win at Marseille.

Marquinhos and Edinson Cavani had the French champions two objectives ahead after only 16 minutes, while Lucas Moura and Julian Draxler struck not long after the break. Pole Fanni then got a reassurance for Marseille before Blaise Matuidi finished the scoring following 73 minutes.

PSG are currently only three focuses behind Monaco at the highest point of the table, who beat Guingamp 2-1 on Saturday.

Caen climbed far from the drop zone with an unexpected 1-0 win at Saint Etienne. Sylvio Ronny Rodelin struck the main objective of the amusement following 33 minutes.
